Business Needs & Challenges
QPM is in charge of a portfolio of projects in the Arab World. Most of these projects are managed as a separate
entity, with its own project management team, budgets, etc. Under such circumstances, it is difficult for QPM
Management to get insights into these projects in order to understand its challenges, resolve conflicts if any,
Manage overall QPM resources and to make informed decisions. QPM does not lack data about its projects portfolios,
however, QPM needs to equip its team of business analysts with the ability to analyze and manage data and convert
it to information.
QPM has multiple data sources from ERP and Project Management operations. QPM needs ways to manage these data
sources and build a solid data warehouse using its own resources.
Characteristics of a viable solution
QPM resources require a hands-on, no slides, training on the Microsoft Platform using real-life examples. Such
training needs to be delivered on-site at QPM and given to both IT and Business resources and be applicable to
QPM in particular.
Solution
QPM were looking for specialized training on the Microsoft Business Intelligence Platform. QPM selected
SharperSkills BI Training from Sharper Software to train
its resources on the Microsoft BI Platform. Sharper Software took QPM resources on a journey that began with
identifying business requirements, to building the right Extract, Transform and Load (ETL) solutions, to building
a business-friendly data warehouse, to developing representative dashboards.
The result is that QPM resources are now capable to process large amounts of project-related data and store it in
QPMs Data Warehouse, in addition to the ability to build informative dashboards.
